“Unbreakable Flower”: Ukrainian women in Sweden become faces of art project about strength and beauty

The Ukrainian organization in Sweden, SVIT UA, has announced the launch of a large-scale art and social project called “The Unbreakable Flower: A Mosaic of Ukrainian Beauty.” The initiative aims to show the resilience of the Ukrainian people through the stories of women and to create a unique art gallery that will travel to cities across Sweden.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on the SVIT UA Facebook page.

The organizers plan to select one representative from each city in Ukraine. These women will become symbols of their regions in the future exhibition. The project is looking for participants whose stories tell of trials, inner strength, roots, and the path to recovery during the war. The project is being implemented with the support of the organization A Demand For Action.

Participation in the project is free and includes: a professional photo shoot by a photo therapy specialist from the UK (February 21-22 in Stockholm), creation of an individual image (makeup and hairstyle), publication of a personal story in a printed author's catalog, and exhibition of a portrait in a traveling exhibition throughout Sweden.

Ukrainian women currently living in Sweden are invited to participate. Age, experience, or level of publicity are not important. The important thing is a willingness to share your story, which can inspire others.

The organizers emphasize that the project will cover the costs of travel and accommodation for participants in Stockholm.

Applications will be accepted from January 5 to February 5. To register, send an email to info@svitua.se with your first and last name, city of residence in Ukraine and Sweden, phone number, and a brief description of your story.

The official presentation of the portraits and their presentation to the participants will take place at a ceremony on March 7.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Association “Ednist” announced the release of its traditional bilingual calendar, which has been uniting the Ukrainian community in Hungary for many years and introducing local residents to Ukrainian culture. This year's edition is dedicated to the theme of Ukrainian amulets.
