Language scandal in Chernivtsi: Teacher who called student “bastard” dismissed from school

Principal of the institution Halyna Abramiuk reported this in a comment to a Ukrinform correspondent.

“Today, the commission conducting the internal investigation completed its work, and the corresponding report has been prepared. The teacher submitted a letter of resignation, and I issued the order for her dismissal,” the lyceum principal said.

According to her, last week the teacher was removed from her duties as homeroom teacher. And on Monday, December 1, the dismissal took place. The institution maintains that all applicable norms of Ukrainian legislation were followed in the dismissal process.

As reported by Ukrinform, in Chernivtsi, at Lyceum No. 5 Oriana, a geography teacher called a student a “bastard” after he asked her to switch to the Ukrainian language.
