NABU reports unauthorized search of its employee and use of physical force against him
According to Ukrinform, NABU reported this on Facebook.
The Bureau stated that the search took place at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4.
“Physical force was used against the NABU employee. No notice of suspicion was served to the employee. The search was conducted without a court warrant and is likely connected to the direct performance of the employee’s professional duties,” the statement said.
NABU emphasized that the worker whose premises were searched has been involved in documenting several corruption-related cases and has always acted strictly within the framework of Ukrainian law.
According to the Bureau, before the search, covert surveillance had been conducted on the same employee.
The circumstances of the incident and those involved are currently being established.
As reported, an investigation is underway into NABU official Ruslan Magamedrasulov, who is accused of aiding the aggressor state and abuse of influence.
A witness in the case against Magamedrasulov has been served with a notice of suspicion for perjury.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine stated that it was conducting searches of several individuals, including relatives of a NABU detective, within criminal proceedings concerning illicit enrichment and the legalization of property obtained through criminal means.
