Twelfth underground school opens in Zaporizhzhia

A 12th underground school for 1,000 children has opened in Zaporizhzhia as part of the My Fortress program, implemented jointly with Ukraine's Ministry of Education and Science and UNICEF.

Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Education under resilience: the 12th underground school has opened in Zaporizhzhia," Fedorov wrote.

According to him, the new educational facility will provide in-person learning for 1,000 children in two shifts. In the second shift, preschool children will attend classes there.

The official said that the school is equipped to the highest standards of comfort and safety. It features a modern learning environment with new furniture, multimedia boards, and digital devices.

The facility also includes a cafeteria, lounge area, medical office, sports corner, inclusive space, and restrooms.

The project was implemented under the My Fortress program in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and UNICEF, with funding provided under the Framework Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union through the Ukraine Facility instrument.
