Eleven underground schools already open in Zaporizhzhia region

A total of 11 underground schools have already opened in the Zaporizhzhia region, with plans to reach 24 by the end of the year.
The announcement was made on Telegram by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, according to Ukrinform.
“Eleven underground schools have already opened in the region, and we plan to reach 24 by year’s end! More than 100 school shelters have been renovated,” the statement reads.
These efforts have allowed over 30,000 children to return to in-person learning.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, two additional underground schools opened in the Zaporizhzhia region on the first day of the academic year, accommodating 900 students.
In Zaporizhzhia, two new sports grounds have also been built next to the underground schools.
