Searches conducted at Pochaiv Lavra in Ternopil region

This was reported to a Ukrinform correspondent by the Ternopil regional police.

"Employees of the investigative department of the Kremenets District Police Department of the National Police in Ternopil region, as part of a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings opened on the grounds of a criminal offense under Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine [fraud committed on a particularly large scale or by an organized group] are conducting searches on the territory of the Pochaiv Lavra, in particular, seizing documents," said Serhii Kreta, spokesman for the Main Directorate of the National Police in Ternopil region.

Procedural support in this criminal proceeding is provided by employees of the Kremenets District Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Ternopil region.

As reported by Ukrinform, the UOC-MP wants to avoid an inspection as part of the stocktaking at the Pochaiv Lavra.
