Less than one-third of the 182 Crimean political prisoners are currently held on the territory of the temporarily occupied peninsula, all others were deported to Russia.

"Currently, less than one-third of the 182 political prisoners are in the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. All the rest were deported by the occupiers to Russia, where they are held in terrible conditions and often are not given the necessary medical care purposefully. In such conditions, two Ukrainian citizens — Kostiantyn Shyring and Dzhemil Hafarov — died due to a sharp deterioration in health," the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea reports.

The Mission notes that many political prisoners have serious health problems and their lives are in danger.

As reported, the occupation administrations of the Russian Federation intend to deport to Russia illegally convicted First Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Nariman Dzhelyal and the Akhtemov brothers.
