COVID-19 in Kyiv: Klitschko reports 1,151 daily cases as of Jan 12

Over the past day, January 11, a total of 1,151 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Kyiv, as well as 2,299 recoveries.

That’s according to Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.

The mayor added that 14 people died from the virus in the past day.

"In the capital, 1,151 coronavirus cases were confirmed in the last day. Fourteen people died. In total, throughout the pandemic period, Kyiv saw 8,328 corona-related deaths. There have been 340,975 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date," Klitschko wrote on Facebook.

Among patients reported in the past day, there are 640 women aged 18 to 93 years and 558 men aged 18 to 89 years, as well as 24 girls from 6 months to 17 years of age and 29 boys from 1 to 17 years.

Among those who died were eight women aged 66 to 86 and six men aged 37 to 70.

Eighty-five patients with coronavirus and 28 persons with suspected COVID-19 and pneumonia were hospitalized.

Also in the past day, 2,299 patients recovered. A total of 321,784 capital residents have already tackled the coronavirus.

"The highest number of cases was detected in Obolonskyi district (163), Dniprovskyi district (157), and Shevchenkivskyi district (154)," wrote Vitaliy Klitschko.
