COVID-19 incidence rate exceeds norm in Kyiv, 22 regions

The COVID-19 incidence rate has exceeded the established norm in the country’s capital Kyiv and 22 regions.

That’s according to the statistical report by the Ministry of Health, seen by Ukrinform.

According to health officials, as of September 20, the COVID-19 incidence rate, which is set at 75 per 100,000 population, was over the limit in Kyiv and 22 regions.

In Kyiv, it stood at 157 per 100,000 population.

The highest rate was recorded in Chernivtsi (338), Luhansk (331), Ternopil (221), Kharkiv (199), Lviv (183), and Khmelnytsky (172) regions.

Also, as of September 20, the COVID-19 hospitalization rate exceeded the norm in a country as a whole with 50.9% against the allowed 50%.

The hospitalization rate was over the said limit for three consecutive days in six Ukrainian regions: Dnipropetrovsk (66%), Luhansk (80.7%), Mykolaiv (65.6%), Rivne (100%), Kharkiv (76.3%), and Cherkasy (68.6%).

Also, the hospitalization dynamic as of September 20 was too high in Donetsk region (59.5%), Zhytomyr region (52.4%), Zaporizhia region (51.3%), Kyiv region (54%), Lviv region (50.5%), Sumy region (66.1%), and Kherson region (58.1%).

As Ukrinform reported earlier, 2,355,805 people have contracted COVID-19 in Ukraine since the onset of the pandemic, of whom 2,233,573 recovered and 55,056 died.

Another 5,159 new daily COVID-19 cases were recorded on September 20.
