Border guards detained 189,000 illegal migrants over years of Ukraine’s independence

The State Border Guard Service has detained 189,000 illegal migrants since Ukraine gained its independence in 1991.

"Over 30 years of Ukraine's independence, the State Border Guard Service has detained 189,000 illegal migrants. Of whom, 127,000 were detained by border guards during the illegal border crossing, 60,000 foreigners were found for violating the rules of stay in Ukraine. Other 2,000 foreign nationals were detained for other violations of the laws of Ukraine," reads the report posted on the website of the State Border Guard Service.

As Ukrinform reported, over 30 years of Ukraine’s independence, more than 2 billion people and more than 452 million vehicles have crossed the state border, more than 792,000 people have been denied entry to Ukraine.
