Sikorsky Challenge 2021 festival of innovative projects kicks off in Kyiv

The tenth festival of innovative projects "Sikorsky Challenge 2021: Ukraine and the World" will take place on August 12-14 at the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".

"Every year, Sikorsky Challenge receives about 200 innovative startup projects. However, this year the jubilee festival was marked by a record number of applications – 320 people are willing to participate. The expert council selected 130 startup projects and scientific and technical developments in six areas: defense and security; high-tech industries and space; green energy, hydrogen economy, ecology; biomedical engineering and human health; agricultural engineering; information technology, digital country, cybersecurity," Ukrinform learnt from the event organizers.

During the three days of the competition, the international jury and investors will select the winners who will receive financial support and assistance in project implementation.

Defense research and development will be the main focus of the festival. On the first day of the festival, August 12, the International Defense Investment Forum will take place. It will highlight issues of strategic importance and development of Ukraine's defense industry until 2030. The event will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Strategic Industries Oleh Urusky.

The Festival organizers: the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Strategic Industries, the State Concern "Ukroboronprom", the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".
