Finland reopens its borders to Ukrainians
The interactive map of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also contains information that passenger traffic between Finland and Ukraine returns to normal from August 9.
"From 8 August, the previous decision from 15 July will be amended so that the restrictions on entry will be lifted for Ukrainian residents arriving in Finland in traffic from Ukraine," the statement reads.
At the same time, the requirements for quarantine restrictions remain in force.
All persons arriving in Finland from any third country (including Ukraine) who have completed a full course of coronavirus vaccination are exempt from compulsory testing and quarantine, provided that 14 days have passed from the date of receipt of the second dose prior to arrival. Finland recognizes the following COVID-19 vaccines: Comirnaty (Pfizer-BionTech), Spikevax (formerly Moderna), Vaxzevria (formerly AstraZeneca), Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), BIBP/Sinopharm, Covishield, and CoronaVac.
Citizens of Ukraine who do not have confirmation of a full vaccine course when crossing the Finnish border must provide one of the following documents: a certificate confirming receipt of the first dose of the vaccine recognized by Finland (a mandatory PCR test 72 hours after arrival to Finland); a certificate confirming a negative PCR test result made in Ukraine no later than 72 hours before crossing the border (it is mandatory to pass the PCR test 72 hours after arrival in Finland).
Without these documents or confirmation that a person has recovered from COVID-19, Ukrainian citizens will be asked to take a PCR test at a border checkpoint.
Passing two PCR tests upon arrival in Finland is free for all travelers. Registration for the PCR test is possible through the website www.finentry.fi.
Instructions on the content and format of the vaccination certificate and the negative PCR test certificate have been published on the website of the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. All certificates must be translated into English.
