School nutrition reform: Ukraine signs memorandum with UNICEF, Swiss Embassy
Olena Zelenska wrote about this on her Facebook page, Ukrinform reports.
"Work on reforming the school nutrition system continues. Today a significant step has been taken – we together with UNICEF Ukraine, the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine have signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation to implement a communication campaign on healthy eating," wrote the president's wife.
She also informed about plans to launch an information portal on school nutrition reform this August, which will be a useful and convenient helper for both educators and parents and pupils. Moreover, with the help of partners, some measures will be carried out in cooperation with the private sector to upgrade the necessary equipment in schools, Zelenska added.
"I am proud to take responsibility for starting this journey. I thank UNICEF, the Ministry of Education and Science and the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation for understanding the importance of the topic and actively participating in the work,” wrote the president's wife.
As Ukrinform reported, First Lady Olena Zelenska previously stated that the menu for school canteens would be updated in 2021.
