More than 40,000 hospital beds equipped to provide oxygen – health minister

Out of more than 60,000 hospital beds designated for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in Ukraine, over 40,000 beds are equipped to provide oxygen, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has said.

“There are 64,111 beds designated for COVID-19 patients, and over 40,000 beds are equipped to provide centralized oxygen supply or have oxygen concentrators,” Stepanov said at a briefing on December 23, Ukrinform reports.

He reminded that at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, there were 12,000 beds for the treatment of coronavirus patients in Ukraine, of which 3,500 beds were equipped with oxygen supply.

As reported by Ukrinform, on December 23, a total of 989,642 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 10,136 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
