Zelensky expresses support to Chinese citizens fighting coronavirus

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed a letter to President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, expressing condolences over the deaths of people caused by complications from the coronavirus epidemic.

“Ukraine is deeply concerned about a significant number of victims of the 2019-nCoV coronavirus epidemic. On behalf of the people of Ukraine and myself, I express sincere condolences to the citizens of friendly China, whose relatives and loved ones have been killed by this horrible disease,” reads the letter, the press service of the Head of State reports.

Zelensky wished a speedy recovery to the sick and expressed confidence that due to the determined and effective actions of the leadership of China, doctors and the entire Chinese people, China will quickly overcome this dangerous disease.

"In these hard times, China can count on Ukraine's support," the Head of State assured.

As of February 5, there are 24,505 confirmed global cases of patients diagnosed with 2019-nCoV in 28 countries since the virus was first reported in December 2019. Four hundred ninety-two deaths have been reportedly caused by the virus, with 900 confirmed cured or recovered cases.
