About 60 thousand foreigners came to Ukraine for treatment last year

"In 2018, about 60,000 foreign patients came to Ukraine with the purpose of medical tourism and spent here about $150 million," President of the Ukrainian Association of Medical Tourism Violetta Yanyshevska said during a meeting dedicated to medical tourism development chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

She added that a foreign tourist, who arrives in Ukraine for treatment, spends on the whole about $2,000-2,500 for one visit. According to Yanyshevska, patients from China and the Arab countries are "promising" for Ukrainian medical tourism.

The president of the Ukrainian Association of Medical Tourism stressed that medical tourism in Ukraine needs considerable support from the authorities and business. In particular, it is necessary to boost investment in resorts, develop hotel business and transport infrastructure.
