The Ukrinform National News Agency of Ukraine and Greece's Athens News Agency - Macedonian Press Agency (ANA-MPA) have agreed to expand professional cooperation on a bilateral basis, as well as interaction as part of international forums and organizations.

A respective cooperation agreement was signed by Ukrinform Director General Oleksandr Kharchenko and ANA-MPA President Michalis Psilos.

"We agreed to cooperate for the sake of increasing information in Greece about Ukraine and in Ukraine about Greece, as well as about cooperation in the European information space," Kharchenko said.

According to him, the agreement provides for information exchange between the two agencies, as well as the development of mutually beneficial cooperation as part of the European Alliance of News Agencies, whose members are Ukrinform from Ukraine and ANA-MPA from Greece.

Both agencies have operated for more than a hundred years - Ukrinform since 1918 and ANA-MPA since 1905. Ukrinform in Ukraine and ANA-MPA in Greece have extensive regional and foreign correspondent networks.
