Klymenko outlines three top priorities as NSDC secretary
Ihor Klymenko has outlined his priorities as secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).

According to Ukrinform, Klymenko said this in a Facebook post.

"By decree of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, I have been appointed secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. I am grateful for this great trust at this decisive time for the country. A great responsibility and a lot of work lie ahead to strengthen the state's internal resilience," Klymenko said.

According to him, his top priorities include:

  • unity of action (ensuring synchronized work, clear coordination and prompt information sharing among all components of the security and defense sector);
  • oversight of decision implementation (conducting a thorough audit of the implementation of NSDC decisions already adopted and establishing systematic oversight of their execution. Decisions must not remain on paper but must be fully implemented within the specified deadlines);
  • strategic forecasting (analyzing risks, preventing and promptly responding to emerging security challenges, from the situation on the front line to protecting critical infrastructure and cyberspace and countering disinformation).

"The resilience of the state is built through the daily coordinated work of every agency and every specialist. Thank you to everyone who is holding their respective line of work," the NSDC secretary said.

"We are working toward one shared goal – the security of Ukraine and the protection of its people," Klymenko added.
