Marshal of Sejm of Poland and President of Romania discuss support for Ukraine

The key topics of the talks were security cooperation and the war in Ukraine. The politicians primarily discussed threats to the security of Central and Eastern Europe, particularly Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
Czarzasty told Dan about his recent visit to Kyiv, about the support Poland provides to Ukraine, and also thanked Romania for the assistance it has given to the Ukrainian state.
"What is happening in Ukraine is a tragedy, and we must help them. Ukraine is very important for Poland," he emphasized.
The conversation also touched on peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia and possible scenarios for ending the war. President Dan stressed that Poland and Romania should cooperate to strengthen the region's security.
During the meeting, Czarzasty invited the Romanian delegation to the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will take place in June in the Polish city of Gdansk.
Another topic of discussion was the Three Seas Initiative. The parties agreed that it is an important project that could contribute to the development of infrastructure in the European region. At the same time, Dan and Czarzasty emphasized that the Three Seas Initiative should develop in a way that strengthens cooperation within the European Union and NATO.
As Ukrinform reported, the head of the Polish government, Donald Tusk, called on political opponents to stop playing "political games" and urged President Karol Nawrocki to sign the law on implementing the SAFE defense initiative.
