Zelensky on Greenland: I very much want America to hear Europe through diplomacy
According to a Ukrinform correspondent, the president made this statement during a conversation with journalists, commenting on whether he was concerned that Trump's attention might be diverted from Ukraine to Greenland.
"As for Greenland, I will emphasize this once again: We respect, I personally greatly respect Denmark and respect their sovereignty and territorial integrity. I very much want America to listen to Europe, specifically through diplomacy. I think this is what will happen, and I truly believe that there will be no major threats," Zelensky said.
At the same time, he noted that he is concerned about the shifting focus away from Ukraine during a full-scale war.
"I am concerned about any shift in focus during a full-scale war. But I do not believe that these are interchangeable. That is, we have a full-scale war, we have a specific aggressor, and we have specific victims. And here, the only option is pressure on Russia and strengthening Ukraine. There are no other tools to end the war," the president emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, US President Donald Trump refused to comment on whether he would use force to seize Greenland and advised European countries to focus on the war in Ukraine.
Denmark sent additional troops to Greenland on Monday after US President Donald Trump refused to rule out the use of force to seize control of the island.
