OSCE holds special meeting to address Russia’s combined strikes against Ukraine
According to Ukrinform, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry wrote about this on social media X.
The minister said that the meeting was convened at Ukraine's request immediately after the presentation of Switzerland's priorities for its OSCE chairmanship in 2026 by his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis, whom he called his friend.
“I thank all our partners and friends at the OSCE for their active participation in today’s meeting, strong and unequivocal condemnation of Moscow’s continued terror, as well as consolidated support of Ukraine’s fight for freedom and lasting peace,” Sybiha wrote.
The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also expressed gratitude to the Swiss chairmanship for its leadership and solidarity with Ukraine.
“The OSCE’s ability to respond in a timely and effective manner to each and every blatant violation of the Helsinki principles is critical,” Sybiha added.
As reported, at Ukraine's request, on Thursday, January 15, the OSCE was to consider Russia's strikes on Ukrainian cities and disregard for US-led peace efforts during an extraordinary debate.
