Some members of Coalition of Willing ready for presence on Ukrainian territory – Zhovkva
Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, stated this during a TV broadcast, Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"We cannot disclose details to the press, but there is a specific number of countries [among the Coalition of the Willing] that say that after peace is established in Ukraine, or a certain phase of a ceasefire is reached, such countries are ready to discuss the deployment of certain forms of their presence," Zhovkva said.
He clarified that in this context it is not always only about their own troops.
According to him, there are countries that cannot provide military contingents but can offer equipment, satellite communications, and financial support.
"That is why there is such a concept as Boots and Flags on the Ground. That is, those who for one reason or another do not wish to be present as a contingent can provide other types of assistance. Work in this direction is ongoing," Zhovkva said.
Returning to the broader concept of security guarantees, he noted that one such guarantee could be foreign contingents "or, as they are now called, support forces or multifunctional forces – Ukraine".
As reported earlier, the next meeting of the Coalition of the Willing at the level of leaders is scheduled for January and is to take place in France. Prior to that, on January 3, national security advisers of the leaders of the Coalition of the Willing will gather in Kyiv.
