Zelensky refutes Russian claims of breakdown in talks

Ukrinform
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has refuted Russian claims that negotiations have broken down and stressed that dialogue with U.S. partners continues on a daily basis.

The head of state said this while answering journalists' questions, Ukrinform reports.

"Despite all the media claims by the Russians about the breakdown of our talks with the Americans, we are working every day. And today there have already been several calls by our team – [National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem] Umerov together with the Americans and [Special Envoy] Steve Witkoff. We are discussing our next steps," Zelensky said.

He recalled that a meeting is currently being prepared at the level of national security advisers to the leaders of the Coalition of the Willing, scheduled for January 3 in Kyiv, as well as a leaders' meeting to be held in France later in January.

As reported, U.S. President Donald Trump said that a lot of progress had been made in talks on ending the war following his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which took place on Sunday, December 29, at the Mar-a-Lago residence in the state of Florida.
