End of war in Ukraine has never been closer - Orban
According to Ukrinform, he stated this on Facebook.
"Never have we been this close to ending the Russia–Ukraine war," he wrote.
According to Orban, key events this week will take place in Brussels during the EU summit, for which Hungary is also preparing.
"The stakes are clear: war or peace," Orban said.
He added that Europe currently "stands at the gate of a historic opportunity," as the war that European countries have been unable to end for four years could be stopped by the United States.
At the same time, the Hungarian politician expressed confidence that the EU is moving in the opposite direction and intends not only to continue but also to "expand" the war.
Orban once again stressed that Hungary does not support the confiscation of frozen Russian assets, will not send money or weapons to Ukraine, and will "not take part in any EU loans serving the aims of war."
In conclusion, the Hungarian prime minister said that the coming week will be intense and called on everyone to "fasten their seat belts."
As Ukrinform reported, EU ambassadors agreed to freeze Russian sovereign assets indefinitely, removing the main obstacle to providing Ukraine with a "reparations loan" worth EUR 210 billion.
