The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine is conducting more than ten criminal proceedings regarding possible abuses in the construction of fortifications, including the case of the fortifications in the Donetsk region constructed by the Poltava Regional Military Administration.

This was announced by NABU Chairman Semen Kryvonos during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

“We have several criminal proceedings concerning abuses in the construction of fortifications,” he said.

At the same time, the official confirmed that NABU is investigating a case of possible abuse in the construction of fortifications in the Donetsk region by the Poltava Regional Military Administration, when it was headed by Filip Pronin (now Head of the State Financial Monitoring Service), which was previously actively discussed in the media.

“We have conducted a series of searches. I am unable to provide any additional comments due to the confidentiality of the pre-trial investigation. We will conduct expert examinations to calculate the possible amount of damage. It is too early to say anything about this now,” Kryvonos emphasized.

At the same time, the Head of NABU reported that there are currently more than 10 criminal proceedings concerning abuse of fortifications in other regions, not just in Poltava.

As previously reported, MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak published an investigation stating that in 2024, the Poltava Regional Military Administration built substandard fortifications in the Donetsk region for UAH 372 million, resulting in the loss of Ukrainian territory.

The Verkhovna Rada summoned Filip Pronin, Head of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine, who headed the Poltava Regional Military Administration in 2024, as well as Volodymyr Kohut, the current acting Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, to a meeting.

Pronin denied the information in the Verkhovna Rada regarding possible abuses in the construction of fortifications.
