Moldova’s Central Election Commission confirms parliamentary election valid

Voter turnout in Moldova’s parliamentary election has surpassed the 33% threshold required for the vote to be recognized as valid.

According to the country’s Central Election Commission (CEC), cited by Ukrinform, as of 17:25 on September 28 more than 1.31 million citizens had cast their ballots. This represents nearly 44% of the electorate, well above the minimum turnout threshold of 33.33%.

The CEC noted that more than 202,000 Moldovans abroad voted, underscoring strong engagement by the diaspora. In Transnistria, over 10,000 citizens participated.

As reported, Moldova’s parliamentary election began on Sunday, September 28. Voters are electing 101 members of parliament who will lead the country for the next four years.
