Erdoğan urges Putin to resume peace talks with Ukraine in Istanbul
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Daily Sabah citing the Turkish president’s press office.
Erdoğan emphasized the importance of resuming a third round of peace negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv and proposed that future talks be held in Istanbul, provided both sides agree on suitable dates for the meeting.
In addition, the Turkish president expressed concern over recent clashes in the southern Syrian province of Suwayda, warning that the violence threatens regional stability.
He stressed the importance of respecting Syria’s sovereignty and stated that Israel must refrain from further violations.
The president also reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to supporting peace and stability in Syria, underlining Ankara’s intention to help the war-torn country get back on its feet as soon as possible.
As reported by Ukrinform earlier, Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced the possibility of a meeting in Istanbul between the presidents of Ukraine, the United States, and Türkiye —Volodymyr Zelensky, Donald Trump, and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan — as well as Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin.
