Ukraine, US coordinating technical details of renewed defense assistance – MFA

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi said this at a briefing on Friday, July 11, Ukrinform reports.

Tykhyi noted that the media had widely discussed "certain elements of [aid] packages that were either being reviewed or delayed," but stressed that U.S. defense support for Ukraine is ongoing.

"We are grateful to the United States for its clear signals regarding the continuation and potential strengthening of defense support for Ukraine. We see these signals and welcome them. It is very important that both Ukrainian and American teams are now working to clarify all the technical details – what from the already allocated packages is en route, and when it is expected to arrive," Tykhyi said.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced earlier this week that the United States would send more weapons to Ukraine to help defend itself against intensified Russian attacks.

According to Reuters, Trump plans to use his presidential drawdown authority for the first time since taking office in January to send a weapons package to Ukraine. The expected value of the aid package is up to $300 million, with equipment to be drawn from existing Pentagon stockpiles.
