Sybiha: Ukraine has not received response from Russia on proposal to extend ceasefire to 30 days

Sybiha wrote about this on the social network X, Ukrinform reports.

The Foreign Minister noted that although there was a slight decrease in Russian military activity yesterday, on the eve of Easter, and today, Russian troops continue to attack Ukrainian positions. According to him, Ukraine is responding to this “responsibly”.

“However, the main issue is that yesterday Ukraine proposed to extend the ceasefire beyond midnight. We are ready for a 30-day full ceasefire if Russia reciprocates. We still have not heard any response from Moscow,” Sybiha said.

He noted that Russia's actions after midnight tomorrow - April 21 - and throughout the week will show Russia's true attitude to the U.S. peace efforts and the proposal for a 30-day complete ceasefire.

“They will show whether Russia is serious about peace or whether Putin's statements yesterday were just manipulations,” Sybiha added.

As Ukrinform reported, Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced a ceasefire in the war against Ukraine during Easter on Saturday, April 19.

The European Commission responded to Putin's statement by saying that Moscow could immediately end the war if it wanted to.

The United Kingdom also called on Russia to call for a complete ceasefire in Ukraine, not just a one-day pause.
