Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal discussed Canada's participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine with Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

"I am glad to meet with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau in Kyiv. First of all, I thanked him for the additional 400 million dollars in security assistance," Shmyhal posted on Telegram on June 11.

According to him, the countries are facing huge challenges today.

As Shmyhal noted, Russia's terrorist act at the Kakhovka HPP led to the biggest man-made disaster in Europe in recent decades.

"We are grateful to Canada for its immediate support in this difficult situation. We will definitely restore everything. We discussed Canada's participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine," Shmyhal added.

The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to the Canadian government for canceling all customs duties and quotas for Ukrainian products for one year. "Our negotiating teams are also finalizing preparations for an updated Free Trade Agreement. We expect to sign it as soon as possible," he said.

In addition, Shmyhal expressed his belief that Canada will continue to show leadership in decisions to support Ukraine.

As reported, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau arrived in Ukraine on an unannounced visit.
