U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration has praised the remark by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on the need for the country to continue providing Ukraine with large-scale support amid Russian war.

That’s according to Karin Jean-Pierre, who spoke with the press on Tuesday, Ukrinform's own correspondent reports.

"We're glad to hear that speaker McCarthy agrees, it is vital to keep supporting Ukraine. It was good to hear him push back on the propaganda put forth by Russian state news outlets," White House spokesperson said.

She recalled that over the past year, President Biden has rallied the world to support Ukraine as its people defend their land against Russian aggression.

Therefore, as per the spokesperson, the “widespread bipartisan support” for Ukraine demonstrated by the U.S. Congress has been “critical” to those efforts.

"[I]t is important for that support to continue and we're glad to hear that coming from Speaker McCarthy for sure," emphasized Jean-Pierre.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the speaker of the House of Representatives, emphasized his support for Ukraine during his visit to Israel. The Speaker rejected the assumption made by a Russian journalist who asked a question of whether he stands against sending military and financial aid to Kyiv.

McCarthy also condemned Moscow for murdering Ukrainian children and distanced himself from some Republicans who stand opposed to providing additional major aid to Ukraine.
