The United States welcomes the visit of the Saudi Arabian ministerial delegation to Kyiv, which could be the beginning of increased support for Ukraine from other countries of the Arab region.

This was stated by John Kirby, a National Security Council coordinator, who spoke at a briefing at the White House on Monday, Ukrinform's own correspondent in D.C. reports.

"This was the first ministerial visit by an Arab state to Kyiv since the war began," said a representative of the Biden administration.

He emphasized that during the meetings, the Saudi and Ukrainian sides concluded, in particular, official agreements on providing aid to Ukraine in the amount of $400 million, including generators and much-needed supplies in various fields.

“These deliveries will begin arriving next week. This is an important announcement," Kirby emphasized.

He called Saudi Arabia's initiative a “positive step” from the Middle East region. "We hope to see more from our partners over there in the coming months," added the White House official.

He also pointed out that last week Saudi Arabia voted for the resolution of the UN General Assembly on the situation in Ukraine.
