France and Thailand urged all parties to refrain from escalating the war started by Russia against Ukraine and to explore the ways of a peaceful settlement.

That's according to a joint communique published on the website of the Elysee Palace after the negotiations between French President Emmanuel Macron and Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, Ukrinform reports.

"Regarding Ukraine, France and Thailand recalled the UN General Assembly Resolution ES-11/1 of March 2, 2022, reaffirming their commitment to the principle of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of States as enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations. The two sides also urged all parties concerned to refrain from any further escalation of the conflict, as well as to seriously consider ways to peacefully resolve the crisis through diplomacy and dialogue," the document reads.
