Ukraine's parliament cannot denounce all agreements with Russia and Belarus - Stefanchuk

The Verkhovna Rada cannot denounce all agreements that Ukraine signed with Russia and Belarus.

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

"Can we remove everything?" Obviously, we can't. Because there are a number of agreements on human rights that need to be preserved. For example, if Ukrainians stay on the territory of those states, or if there are prisoner exchanges, it all happens at the level of international agreements. At the same time, economic agreements must be canceled," he said.

At the same time, he said that the Verkhovna Rada had set a task for the Cabinet of Ministers to carry out the "de-Russification" and "de-Belarusianization" of the part of the agreements that can be terminated. Stefanchuk stressed that the parliament expects such proposals and will definitely consider them first.

In addition, he noted that the Ukrainian parliament has already considered many issues related to the denunciation of agreements with Russia and Belarus. In particular, according to him, all documents on Ukraine's participation in the CIS have already been denounced.

As reported, a full-scale war started by Russia has been going on in Ukraine since February 24. Russian troops are destroying critical and residential infrastructure, brutally killing civilians. Some Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian cities come from Belarusian territory.
