Latvia and Canada will continue to coordinate additional military assistance to Ukraine.

That's according to a readout of a meeting between Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Latvian counterpart Krišjānis Kariņš, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The prime ministers discussed ways to further coordinate additional military support to Ukraine as the country continues to fight Russia's unprovoked and unjustifiable aggression," the statement said.

The leaders stressed the importance of coordination among members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and discussed ways to further strengthen NATO's deterrence and defense measures in Eastern Europe, particularly in the Baltic region "The prime ministers also expressed their shared support for Finland joining the NATO Alliance," Trudeau's office said.

Earlier reports said that this year's state budget of Canada provides $500 million for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine.
