Recognition of ‘LPR/ DPR’ does not correlate with Minsk agreements, Kremlin says

Ukrinform
The Kremlin has stated that the recognition of illegal entities, the so-called “LPR/ DPR”, does not correlate with the Minsk agreements, Interfax reports with reference to Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

According to him, Russian president Vladimir Putin has taken note of the appeal of State Duma members to recognize the self-proclaimed republics of Donbas but considers the implementation of the Minsk agreements to be the main task.

The recognition of “LPR/ DPR” does not correlate with the Minsk agreements, Peskov confirmed.

On February 15, the State Duma voted to submit an appeal to Russian president Vladimir Putin with a request to recognize the so-called “LPR/ DPR”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that Moscow would bear full responsibility for the destruction of the Minsk agreements and the process of peaceful settlement of the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine if the illegal entities were recognized.
