The Parliament of Georgia adopted a resolution in support of Ukraine, a draft proposed by the ruling Georgian Dream party.

As News Georgia informs, 74 out of 107 MPs registered to vote supported the resolution unanimously, no one voted against it. The vast majority of the opposition representatives present in the session hall abstained. During the discussion of the resolution, the opposition criticized the draft, calling its text "not clear enough" as it did not mention the role of the Russian Federation.

The resolution states that Georgia condemns any intentions that may be directed against the territorial integrity of the sovereign state.

"Georgia is deeply concerned about the possible military escalation in Ukraine and condemns any intentions that may be directed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the sovereign state, which poses a new threat not only to Ukraine but also to regional peace and security," reads the resolution.

The document also states that the Parliament of Georgia expresses solidarity with the friendly Ukrainian people.

As reported, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and Foreign Minister of Georgia David Zalkaliani agreed on a common position: concessions on Ukraine's and Georgia's integration into NATO, demanded by Russia, are unacceptable.
