Dzheppar informs G7 Ambassadors and EU Delegation on Crimea Platform development

At the Crimea Platform Office on December 6, Dzheppar and the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korynevych met with G7 Ambassadors and the leadership of the EU Delegation to Ukraine.

"The meeting allowed to coordinate positions on the development of the international Crimea Platform and inform partners about Ukraine's measures at the national level aimed at maintaining ties with the population of the temporarily occupied territory, as well as protecting the rights of victims of Russian aggression," the Ministry's press service informs.

Dzheppar thanked the partners for supporting the activities of the Crimea Platform and preparing activities within this format.

The deputy minister outlined Ukraine's proposals for specific measures within the Crimea Platform priority areas: non-recognition policy, sanctions, security, human rights and international humanitarian law, economic and environmental consequences of the occupation.

Dzheppar informed foreign diplomats about the development of the Crimea Platform Expert Network and the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aimed at establishing coordination between its governmental and expert dimensions. She stressed the importance of donor support for the Expert Network.

Korynevych reported on the priorities of the President's Mission as a body that coordinates the tasks of de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea at the national level. He briefed the meeting participants on legislative initiatives, measures to ensure the rights and needs of the population of Crimea, in particular in the educational, medical and cultural spheres, protection of the religious community of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Crimea.

Dzheppar and Korynevych paid special attention to steps aimed at maintaining and preserving the Crimean Tatar identity.

Foreign diplomats expressed support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and independence within its internationally recognized borders, in particular in the context of Russia's growing military presence around Ukraine.

The partners expressed support for the activities of the Crimea Platform in priority areas, including non-recognition policy, and noted that they will continue to pay close attention to cases of human rights violations in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

During the meeting, the participants also exchanged views on expanding the circle of the Crimea Platform participants.
