In 2017–2019, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) checked more than 2,000 asset declarations filed by officials, of which 99% contained inaccurate data.

"In 2017–2019, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention conducted 2,123 full inspections of officials' declarations and found violations in 99% of cases or in declarations filed by 2,106 officials," Opendatabot open state data monitoring service informs.

It is noted that in 2019, the NACP found 1,469 inaccurate declarations – the largest number over the past four years. For example, in 2018, 469 inaccurate declarations were detected, in 2017 – 141.

Moreover, 120 administrative protocols were drawn up to bring officials to justice for late submission of declarations in 2019, down 35% compared to 2018 (185 protocols).

Checks are underway on declarations for 2020 submitted by officials in April this year.

As reported, in July 2021, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed law No. 1576-IX on punishment for inaccurate data in asset declarations. If an official provides inaccurate information, he or she may be imprisoned for up to two years and lose the right to hold certain positions for up to three years.
