Biden's meeting with Zelensky to take place in Washington on Aug 30 – White House
This was said in an official statement by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki.
“President Biden looks forward to welcoming President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine to the White House on August 30, 2021,” the report reads.
According to the statement, the visit will affirm the United States’ unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression in the Donbas and Crimea.
In addition, the meeting of the presidents will reaffirm their close cooperation on energy security, and U.S. backing for President Zelensky’s efforts to tackle corruption and implement a reform agenda based on their shared democratic values.
As Ukrinform reported, on June 7, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Joe Biden held telephone talks, during which the American leader invited his Ukrainian counterpart to visit the White House.
