The final document of the Crimean Platform summit, which will take place on August 23, should outline not only the principles and priorities, but also the means and mechanisms of de-occupation of Crimea.

Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov said this at the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30. International Relations” in Kyiv on July 6, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We are waiting for the final document that should stipulate the basic principles and priorities of the de-occupation of Crimea. We are not maximalists, as some of us believe; we have been just living in occupied Crimea for eight years. Therefore, I would very much like that a comma was put in this final document after the words ‘Basic principles and priorities’ and then it was added: ‘Means and mechanisms of de-occupation of Crimea," Chubarov stressed.

As reported, the Crimean Platform is a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to increase the effectiveness of the international response to the ongoing occupation of Crimea, respond to growing security challenges, strengthen international pressure on the Kremlin, prevent further human rights violations, protect victims of the occupation regime. The Platform’s key objective is de-occupation of Crimea and its return to Ukraine.

The activities of the Crimean Platform will be launched at the summit on August 23, to which diplomats and leaders of foreign countries are invited.
