President may veto law on High Qualification Commission of Judges - Razumkov
He said this at a briefing on Friday, July 2, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"Now we have a conflict in the law. Two norms can be interpreted completely differently: either increasing or decreasing the role of international experts. According to the current rules of procedure of the Verkhovna Rada and the Constitution, it is already impossible to correct the adopted law at the parliamentary level so there is a high probability that the president will veto it over this technical issue and it will be returned with the president's veto to the Verkhovna Rada," Razumkov said.
He also noted that if the head of state vetoes law No. 3711-D introducing amendments to the law of Ukraine "On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges" and some laws of Ukraine resuming the work of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the parliament will also be able to consider it at the next plenary week and "resolve these contradictions."
