President proposes increasing army strength by 11,000 personnel - bill

The text of the draft law has been published on the parliament's website, according to Ukrinform.

The explanatory note states that the goals and objectives of the bill are to increase the strength of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to create and ensure the functioning of a separate branch of forces - the Territorial Defense Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - as well as to develop the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the interests of forming the resistance movement.

At the legislative level, the draft law proposes increasing the strength of the Ukrainian Armed Forces by 11,000 personnel to ensure the functioning of a separate branch of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - the Territorial Defense Forces - as well as the further development of the resistance movement system.

It is expected that the adoption of the legislative act will help solve the task of improving the procedure for the organization and functioning of territorial defense at the national, regional and local levels, as well as ensuring the comprehensive and systematic preparation of Ukrainian citizens for national resistance.
