Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Andriy Yermak met with the ambassadors of the G7 countries to discuss the situation in eastern Ukraine, renewal of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and other important reforms, the president’s press service reports.

"I hope that we will be able to find a way to effectively monitor the ceasefire violation with the support of the OSCE SMM. The Ukrainian side also suggested that the TCG’s security working group unconditionally convene in the event of casualties as a result of shelling in Donbas. We believe that there should be a stricter responsibility for sniper attacks," Yermak said.

The head of the President's Office noted that the process of mutual release of detainees has been blocked.

Yermak also informed that Ukraine, like the entire international community, is demanding and awaiting the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine's borders, and that diplomatic pressure from the G7 is important for this.

In addition, during the meeting, the head of the President’s Office noted that Volodymyr Zelensky and his team are determined to restart the Constitutional Court. To this end, on April 20, President Zelensky signed a decree on establishing a competition commission for the selection of candidates for judges of the Constitutional Court under the President's quota. In this regard, Andriy Yermak called on the G7 ambassadors to nominate constitutional law experts from their countries who could take part in the work of this commission.
