Strategy for Crimea’s De-occupation: Russia actively militarizing occupied peninsula

This is stated in the preamble of the Strategy for De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol, published on the President's website.

"By implementing aggressive foreign policy strategies, the Russian Federation actively militarizes the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and creates a military-strategic bridgehead for the expansion of the armed conflict zone from the Crimean Peninsula to the Mediterranean region, the Middle East and Africa," the document reads.

The strategy underscores that the Crimean Peninsula is gradually becoming a military base of the Russian Federation, a source of danger and threat to the stability of Europe and the world.

It is also noted that if tactical nuclear weapons and means of their delivery are placed in Crimea, Russia destroys the international non-proliferation regime, turns the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol into a potential military target, and endangers the safety and lives of Ukrainian citizens.

As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky enacted the Strategy for De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol. The document was adopted by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on March 11.
