Lithuanian president calls on Ukraine to continue course towards EU and NATO

Ukrinform
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda has called on the Ukrainian authorities to continue on their path towards joining the EU and NATO.

He wrote about this on his Twitter account on the occasion of the second anniversary of the adoption of amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine regarding the strategic course towards membership in the EU and NATO.

"Two years ago, the Ukrainian Parliament voted to amend the Constitution by stating strategic objectives to join the EU and NATO. This historic decision consolidated Ukraine's geopolitical choice," the report reads.

Nausėda assured that Lithuania supports Ukraine's efforts and urges the country to stay strong on this way.

On February 7, 2019, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law "On Amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine (regarding the strategic course of the state on acquiring full-fledged membership of Ukraine in the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization)," initiated by the President.
