Kuleba believes US participation in Donbas talks would be effective in any format
Kuleba said this in an interview with the Obozrevatel online media outlet.
Commenting on the likelihood of the participation of the United States and Great Britain in the Normandy format negotiations, the diplomat noted that such talks have been going on since 2014.
“Changes in the Normandy format talks require the consent of all its participants. Undoubtedly, a more active US participation in resolving the issue of ending Russian aggression and de-occupation of our territories will be very useful and effective. But a format within which this can take place is a matter of diplomacy,” the minister said.
As for the prospects for holding a Normandy format meeting at the presidential level this year, the foreign minister noted that the Ukrainian side is constantly working on this and insists on holding such a meeting.
"France and Germany are ready, but Russia is still negotiating in such a way that this meeting is postponed," Kuleba stated.
On January 12, Berlin hosted a Normandy format meeting at the level of political advisers.
The Ukrainian side was represented by Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak, Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Reznikov, and members of the National Security and Defense Council.
