Ukraine in TCG declares need to hold Normandy Four summit by year-end
The Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group for the Settlement of the Situation in Donbas (TCG) wrote about this on its Telegram channel, Ukrinform reports.
"The Ukrainian side is initiating an extraordinary meeting of the TCG next week in order to consider the following issues: the release of detainees, the unblocking of checkpoints by the Russian side, the finalization of an agreement on 19 demining sites and an agreement on four new disengagement areas, ensuring free and unimpeded access of the OSCE SMM to the entire territory of Ukraine and of international humanitarian organizations to the detainees," the report reads.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation, Leonid Kravchuk, stressed that agreements at the highest level in the Normandy format are the basis for a peaceful settlement.
The Ukrainian delegation reiterated its position, namely, the settlement is based on the whole complex of agreements reached within the framework of the Normandy format, as well as the Minsk agreements. Ukraine confirms its readiness to continue to work consistently on their implementation, for which, in particular, it proposed its "Joint Steps Plan".
Kravchuk demands that the Russian side, as a member of the TCG, take on political responsibility and formally define its position on the need to fulfill the agreements reached at the highest level in Paris in 2019 by the end of this year.
