Zelensky signs law on Ukraine's withdrawal from CIS antimonopoly policy treaty
"According to the document, Ukraine withdraws from the Treaty on the Implementation of the Coordinated Antimonopoly Policy, signed at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Moscow on January 25, 2000, and ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with reservations by Law No. 449-IV as of January 16, 2003”, reads the report.
The treaty envisages mechanisms for information exchange, so there is a risk that the CIS member states will receive information that can be used to exert trade and economic pressure on Ukraine.
The Office of the President of Ukraine also informs that the withdrawal from the Treaty will protect the national economic interests of Ukraine, eliminating the mechanism that determines the interstate exchange of information on economic issues.
