Ukraine’s ambassador presents credentials to Japan's Emperor Naruhito
"The Japanese describe such events as "Ichi-go ichi-e", which means "one time, one meeting". Such an event was the presentation of credentials to the only monarch on Earth, who has the title of emperor, - His Majesty the Emperor of Japan Naruhito," the diplomat wrote on his Facebook page.
He added that the ceremony was touching and very solemn. The diplomat was greatly impressed by the conversation with the monarch, who is a symbol of the Japanese nation and the unity of the state, as well as the fantastic beauty of the Imperial Palace park.
As reported, on October 29, Ukrainian Ambassador to Japan Sergiy Korsunsky presented copies of his credentials to Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Mr. Takeo Akiba.
On April 14, President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Korsunsky as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Japan.
